Well, finally got logged on. So I thought I would introduce myself. Terry Shores from Temecula, Cal. Just got interested in Mercedes roadsters about 2 years ago. In that time I have had one white 71 280sl and around 11 560 sl's and 3 sl500's. I have sold nearly all of them and have finally settled down to just two. A 01 red sport model and my favorite of all, a 1971 280sl signal red with black (optional) leather, a/c, auto, hard and softtop BEAUTY. Has 44460 original miles. Just purchased it from cooperclassiccars.com in New York. Has zero rust and drives perfect. I am in the process of learning all I can about these cars because I would like to start showing this car. I joined this site because I have noticed there are alot of people here with a whole bunch of knowledge. So, just a warning, I will be asking alot of questions. The car is probably a 9 on a 10 scale and I plan on making it a 10.
Thanks,
Terry

Terry,
Please be very cautious buying from this dealer.

Douglas, thanks for the info. After I received the car, I took it to M.B. Services in Murrieta, Ca. near my home. The two owners have about 25 years each restoring Mercedes. Many gullwings, 190's and 280sl's. They said I got a really good one!! So far, I am very pleased.

Terry,
I'm very glad to hear that. Congrats & welcome.

Terry,
Hello and welcome! If you don't already have one, start by requesting a Data Card from the Classic Center. That will tell you a lot about your car in particular.
If you have specific questions, use the Search function on this forum to find information/answers. There's tons of answers provided over the last couple years' worth of discussions, but not everything!
I hope we can help you enjoy your new Pagoda to the fullest.
