I saw this commerical this morninig https://youtu.be/uPA2pZe83wk

Is that the Pininfarina 230SL?
-
I think they have to pay royalties to DB if they show the normal grill with a 3 point star. So this is one way to get around it. It was in all likelihood done with CGI using a real Pagoda as their starting point. I doubt that car really exists.

For my sins, I was in a Dallas shopping mall a couple of weeks back. The watch people, Fossil, are using a Pagoda interior in the photos for the big “in window” displays
-
The film is retouched, it is clearly visible when you pause the film.
-
Yes, altered with CGI as suggested. All Mercedes logos are removed, grill and hubcaps.
-
And to answer Todd's question directly - No, that is not the Pininfarina Pagoda.
-
It's weird that they altered the headlights too
-
Excuse my ignorance, but does one need to pay royalties on a 60yr old design? Tv programmes have old cars sometimes and I’m sure they need not pay royalties?
Anyway, damn ugly lights for a pagoda!

Not sure what this depends on. I have seen other TV shows where the brand (not just for cars) has a digitized abstraction hiding the logo.
MB is known for their protectiveness of the brand and symbology. I would expect they copyrighted the design, but the timing and jurisdiction.
Here is one comment/entry and there were a bunch more:
