No fuel to cool pump and you keep it running. :(
-
Hello Bob, how long do you think it would take to overheat and burn out? Seems if owners have trouble starting their car, the pump could be running for some time while they try and diagnose the problem, seems it should probably be the first thing to check
Second and possibly a dim question, but what's different with the early pumps that weren't cooled, how are they designed to run without cooling?
Thanks

I had one melt all the plastic.

For the uneducated and inexperienced in the classroom, maybe you can show side by side this one and a normal used one.
-
Didn't have a used one but here is a burnt and melted one vs rewound one. In second picture you can see where glue was melting and coming out...ouch

Will be giving a fuel pump rebuild demo st pagodafest chicago
-
I will be at the demo. Should I bring my pump? ;).
-
Sorry. I already have one I am rebuilding at Pagodafest. If you want to bring it, I can rebuild and mail back to you. I usually test pumps for a total of 6 hours. That is so brushes can start to make groove and seat in armature.
