This is a beautiful car; I am curious to know what the pull knob is behind the ashtray?
-
That knob is for the rear window defroster in the hardtop.

Tom is correct about the knob...it turns rather than pulls, though.
For those interested, Brian Peters of Motoring Investments www.motoringinvestments.com completed his restoration log of this project and has all 8 pages now posted on his web site - easy enough to find them. He plans to add more finished photos of the engine and exterior in the next few days.
Also, some have inquired about the accessory audio cable to the back of the Becker. One of the finished interior photos shows the ashtry open with the snuffer removed, leather added and cable ready for iPod or other accessory. The iPod shuffle fits nicely in the ashtray and with lid closed is completely out of view. It provides the equivalent of a 20 disc CD changer.
Finally, Brian has also posted photos of my 356C (for sale) on the Porsche page on his site. White 1964 - I really miss it, it's a great car if someone wants one of these.
