Title: Drum brakes adjustment
Post by: NZ230 on October 12, 2023, 05:37:26
Thanks all for help so far for my barnfind 230.

Engine is running and want to take out for a spin. Rear brakes are seized. I want to adjust the shoes without taking off the drums in the first instance. The two 19mm adjustment screws are to be turned which way to slack off the brake shoes? I think I vaguely remember they get turned toward each other ie anticlockwise for the front one and clockwise for the rear ones?

Turn each one upward to loosen on the rear. Most likely the main pivot for the brake shoes will be stuck from corrosion and the adjuster bolts will not make any difference until you free-up the pivots.
