There's history here...
"we" (the club) had a couple of sets but they disappeared...

Well, we found a set in the USA simply by looking for the last person who had them!
You can purchase the sets as well from aftermarket suppliers, in the USA, although, as usually happens with overseas members is the taxes and shipping kind of prevent them from doing what they would like.
In less time than it takes to order and wait for them to arrive, the body shop I used some years ago had 10 hubcaps all masked off by hand and painted. Former member Tom Rose and I both have 568 signal red cars thus we did them together.

Also, make sure you get the correct ones. These are different dog dish versus full hub caps.

Hello: I just finished my 1969 280Sl, Signal Red body and top black and hub caps black. it is a rare color combanation. It is also a manuel trans.
I have stencel for the hub caps. Cost me $50.00 including shipping, look great, my restorer did a fine job. Will be done this spring. Make me an offer.

During my renovation 100 years ago, the stencil bled a little. A meticulous tape job was the ticket, in the end.

Mike is spot on. The body shop where Ive had work done told me the same exact thing. He has a teenager with the steadiest hands I’ve ever seen meticulously tape off the wheels for a sharply detailed final product.

It's your car and your choice but the factory used stencils to paint the hub caps, not masking tape. The stencils give a slightly feathered edge to the paint which is what purists will want.
