Hello!
I am installing new seals in my manual gear box.
Does anybody know how to remove the speedo drive shaft to be able to change that seal?
I removed the little “hat” on top, but what now??
Thanks al lot!

It is a press fit and must be driven out or pressed out. Once you get the gear and shaft out, the fun begins. I had to modify a puller for this special use. installation must be exact, so that the speedo cable fits back in the housing. The little "cap" is the gauge for how far to drive the shaft in. Carefully warming the gear will help shaft removal and installation a little easier.

Thanks Joe!
Your help is apreciated a lot!
I managed to get it out and put the new seal in place.
I made some picture I would like to share.
1./ First remove the little cap on top of the shaft; I used two screw drivers and some heat to get it loose.
2./ Measure the free space of the shaft on top of it; in my case this was 6.5 mm.
3./ Then carefully drive the shaft out, using heat on the gear from a heat gun.
4./ Next get the seal out; I used an expander bolt inserted from the bottum to do the job. don't expand too much just enough to fix it in the seal.
to be followed...

5./ Tap on the expander bolt to get the seal out.
6./ Tap the new seal in; I used a countersunk screw, not to damage the new seal.
7./ Tap the shaft in, again using heat or push it in
A doable job...
