Hello all.
What an amazing group, I’ve really enjoyed researching about our cars here.
I am desperately searching for the centre chrome trim that runs under the clock and radio and sits on top of the vinyl padding.
I have an early RHD 250SL so I believe same as 230SL ?
Many thanks for any help.

Have you tried Niemöller? If they don’t have it I’d contact Nelson at Vintage Euro parts in California. He normally has used interior trim pieces available. Worth a try!
-
I believe the chrome trim on the RHD’s is bespoke.
I may have one laying around, I’ll see if I can find it and post a pic.

Sadly it is only the piece that runs along the glovebox.

Hi Doug,
Thank you so much for looking. Do you know if these chrome trims vary from 230,250,280?
Cheers

Hi Len,
Thanks for your reply, my problem is the car is a UK car so RHD.
-
230 is different to 280 in that the piece runs up over the column in the 230 and joins to the piece from the other side.
As for the 250, some may be like a 230 and some like a 280, I’m not sure.
First pic is a 230, second is a 280.

Thanks Doug,
Very helpful and mine is the same as the 230sl going over the steering column.
-
Can anyone point in the right direction to get a part number for this trim on a RHD car.
-
I come up with the number 113 680 09 71, but I’m not 100% sure.
If you could find one, I imagine it will be made of unobtanium.

Hi Doug,
Thanks for your earlier help.
I did manage to track down a fully restored set of four chrome dash trims, although I only needed one, and you were correct, I think they were made with a high percentage of unobtanium as the cost was £1000.
But on the flip side, I now have my original three to sell!
