Was trying to get pints out and the other side snapped. Had a ball and other parts come out while trying to start pertronix install.
Am i screwed? Or do i even need the vacuum advance? The instructions are terrible.
Circled broken parts on one pic.

You definitely want the advance! Car will be very sluggish without.
If you can't put the thing back together, I do suggest you return the Pertronix and get a new 123 ignition, that will replace your entire distributor and it really works. No worrying whether your distributor shaft bearings are worn, or the flyweights / springs are working properly, dwell, and so on.

I second the recommend to forget the PERTRONIX ( somewhat dated tech and a bit finicky) for a period correct looking 123 distributor. Once installed, you will likely never have to fiddle with it again.
Research 123 distributor on this forum….lots of positives.

Thank you both. I was originally planning on the 123 but then decided to try to give this a go. Looks like 123 it is. With the 123 do i have to order the pinch clamp too?

Scratch that found on the forum. From mbzse adding here if anyone needs. Just ordered the 123 :)
