Would anyone be so kind as to help with a diagram illustrating what passes through the firewall holes on a RHD 280 SL ? I am restoring a car which I didn’t take apart and my research has yielded conflicting examples. It would be a useful resource to have in the technical manual as the LHD firewall diagram is not a mirror image of the RHD. With thanks Michael.

Use the resources you have at hand as a Full Member:

Yes thank you but my point is that that link is useful only if you have a LHD…….I am restoring a RHD and the RHD firewall holes are different to LHD and not mirror image ………!

Q? Perhaps phone Authentic Classics, ( USA). They sell a complete firewall grommet set and a map of locations…..albeit for a LHD Pagoda but maybe they can supply a map for a RHD?

Ok, I see, sorry. I have the impression it has been discussed… I will dig for it a bit.

Cannot find it now... maybe we did not talk about it.
Well, these guys may have a map if you buy a set: https://www.niemoeller.de/en/w113/w113/B044/542/d62000d-grommet-kit-firewall-w113-280sl-rhd
I am surprised SL Shop do not have it...

I have them in stock but shipping to Aus woud be $$$$$

I guess WhitBlue is after drawing how to place them on the firewall for RHD. We have LHD worked out, we do not have RHD...

I have done a mud map of the grommets on my RHD as I am still awaiting my engine to come back and I have plenty of room to access them.
It’s a rough pencil drawing at the moment and I will need to draw it up in pen and try and get all the part numbers for them.
The rectangular looking bit on the left side of the drawing is the brake booster/master as it is not marked.
Please note it’s from a late ‘66 230 manual, so other years may differ.

Well done Doug ! Thank you.

I've compiled this, if anything is in the incorrect place, let me know. I'll add the part numbers when you post them

I would have thought it is a Technical Manual item.
