I know which i prefer, but then maybe i'm just an old fossil!

Needless to say there has been a lot of criticism of the new cars and management.
They have even dropped the prancing Jaguar and the Jaguar's head symbol.
Moving with the times I guess :(

Perhaps this reputation is more an urban legend than reality. My 1987 XJ6 (which I have owned since I put dibs on it after the original owner traded it in to the Lincoln dealership where I worked in 1989) now has 150K on the odometer. The paint, interior and drivetrain are original, with only routine maintenance performed every 3k per the book. With the 4.2L twin-cam straight-six, it wafts along wonderfully and returns better MPG than my Pagoda despite weighing a ton more and having nearly twice the displacement. This engine was the final development of the 3.4L DOHC six introduced in the XK120 in 1948. Variations saw service in sports and saloon cars, won the 24 Hours of Le Mans four times and even powered British Military armoured vehicles.
Can't say I find these design studies for future products particularly inspiring, but that does seem to be par for the course with most modern automotive designs, regardless of manufacturer. I'll stick with my Pagoda and other cars with real character. Even when it is 13 F outside like today I can still enjoy going into the garage and just looking at them. 'Nuff said.

Certainly since '95, I can't think of a single Jag I would've had over similarly-priced offerings. XJ-C, series 1 and 2 XKE, some of the older saloons, the XJ6 thusly mentioned... all great or at least interesting cars. I'm really partial to the XJ-C and feel those are undervalued. Now that is a car.
I think the marque should've been retired by Ford. There's just not any space for them, which is a shame.
