Hello, A new member here, looking to purchase his first Pagoda. I have the Data card and understand most of the codes. How do I determine what the original color of the soft-top was. The car currently has a replacement top which is Parchment. I am hoping the original was dark brown. Also what are the codes on the second row of the card?
Thank You,
Curt

The colour of the car is 423 - Tobacco brown but the data card does not appear to have the colour of the soft top. In the box where you have 249 there is usually another number beside which is the colour of the soft top which is blank.
I understand 249 to be rear window defroster in hardtop.
Maybe someone else has better info.
Welcome to our family

Hi,
the color of the soft top is usually listed in the "wenig gewünscht" (less desired) fields, see https://www.sl113.org/wiki/DataCard/DataCards#DataCardVersion4 ,
which is not the case here.
From March 1968 to 1971 the following soft top colors were available: https://www.sl113.org/wiki/DataCard/SofttopColorCodes.
As a first indication, you can look at the list of "recommended color codes" with regard to your colors 423 and 140: https://pagode.info/34.htm. This leads to 746: dark brown.

Hello, everything you need to know is in the technical manual, above left. This is not just technical information, but fixtures and fittings, upholstery, paint colours, etc etc. Have a look at data cards, paint and body plate, recommended colour combinations, soft top colours, you'll discover a lot which will help with your search
The "5" at the end of line 2 on the body and paint plate means that this car wasn't actually ordered with a soft top, just a hard top, so one was added later
Good luck with your purchase, let us know how it goes

Your car was ordered without soft top, that is why the color is not shown in datacard.
What you call "Engine Plate" on your second picture is, actually, Body and Paint Number Plate. You have the decoding here:
https://www.sl113.org/wiki/DataCard/BodyandPaintNumberPlate
Look at Line 2, last digit description.
This means you can have any color you like with no "violation" of factory specs.
