I purchased a 230sl earlier this year, and it arrived this past weekend. It was sitting for 30 years without anything done to it. See the plate inside the engine compartment. The first line reads 180 G 180 6. I would appreciate any help with the colors. Thank you in advance.

180G means silvergrey metallic, provided by Glazurit. 180 stamped twice means that both body and hard top (and wheel hub caps) had the same color. 6 means car delivered with hard top, soft top folded.

Thank you so much! Here are a few photos of the car after I washed, vacuumed and wiped all of the 30years of dust off this past weekend. The Michelin tires are also more than 30 years old, but were new when the lady stopped driving it and just garaged it. She had it painted a brown/gold color when she bought it from the 1st owner. But I’m not a fan of the color combo. I think the silver works better with the light blue original interior. Next step for me is to get her running after I drain the gas, and clean all of the mechanical systems.

Nice car! Euro version, as I see.
The upholstery information is coded on the datacard. I think there was no "light blue" per se available, so perhaps, if you are after original colors, the code number for upholstery needs to be looked up. There were blue, medium blue, turquoise, not light blue.
We have all of this info in Technical Manual.
I am sure you will get a lot of assistance from experts here if needed.

Nice job Jack, I like the colour and the Euro model.
Looking forward to your updates as you get it back on the road. Get ready to open your wallet and do the necessary to get it safely back on the road. Find a mechanic with knowledge of these cars to ensure you do this correctly, unless you have done this before. Plenty of help on this great site.
Sadly the ‘new’ tires are expired and will need to be replaced as I am sure you know.

Thank you both for commenting. My 13 year old son wants to help me with this restoration. He doesn’t like my 63 Austin Healey 3000 because of the smell of exhaust. And since we both haven’t seen the Pagoda run, don’t know if it also smells. Hopefully less so. Anyhow, I appreciate both of your comments and help and will be asking more questions to you experts here. Thanks again!

I like the color too! 8) ;D If it is an original W113 color it is either Tunis or Sandy Beige. If it is a later one, it could be Champagne.

It was repainted in Germany by the second owner after he bought it from the first owner. Not the original color, so contemplating whether I want to get it back to the original silver grey.
