That's great feedback, thanks! Rodd Masteller as the magazine's editor actually did a lot of the work so he deserves most of the credit.
The next issue promises to be at least as informative and fun; it will contain an interview with Pagoda owner and Mercedes F1 driver David Coulthard as well as many other articles that we could not squeeze into the first issue.
If any of the basic members would be interested in a trial copy, we can see about having more of them printed up and sending them out at cost. If you are in fact interested in a trial copy of the first issue, please let either Rodd or myself know.

Group,
Yes Richard, issue #2 (September) is coming along nicely. But, as with all publications we are always looking for more original material. If you would like to contribute to Pagoda World, please e-mail me with your ideas. I would like to make the "Next Issue" section of issue #2 a little thicker than it is right now. ;)
Also, don't forget you can advertise your cars, parts, services, collectibles, literature, or other W113 related items in Pagoda World.
Personal classified ads are:
$5 for Basic Members
free for Full Members
max 50 words
max 1 photo
Business ads are:
1/8 page = $10/issue
1/4 page = $25/issue
1/3 page = $35/issue
1/2 page = $50/issue
1/1 page = $100/issue
If you commit to advertising in 4 issues, we only charge for 3.
Thank you very much. I hope more members contribute, it will increasingly benefit everyone over time.
Thanks,
Rodd

How about making a "competition" in every issue for the best picture of the quarter... I am sure we will all try to become professional pagoda photographer...
There could be a price... could be a model car, or something like that... or simply the joy of sharing the pictures and have it published in our magazine...

I believe I posted this before, but anyone who gets their photo used on the front or back cover gets a free copy of that issue of Pagoda World. The Newsletter Comittee can discuss other incentives, but being published in a global newsletter is a pretty good one in itself.
I encourage people to contribute with more than photos. Typically, all the photos are directly related to an article, so individual photos would be considered for the front/back cover. Send me your ideas on articles about Pagodas. This can be regarding the personal experinces purchasing, driving, repairing, modifying, or restoring your car. If there are subjects you would like to see covered, let me know what they are. Mostly, I'm looking for our membership, or people our membership knows, to provide original material that will be informative or entertaining to the readers. We'll get great material from the membership, I'm sure of it.
Thanks,
Rodd

There is always a danger in starting out on a high note. It makes it very easy for future disapointments. Fortunatly for us those putting Pogoda world together were up to the challange. The second issue was every bit as good as the first. Thanks to those who worked hard to make it happen! :D

Much of the credit goes to Rodd Masteller for coordinating and putting it all together!
For those full members living in Europe, Asia and Australia: your PW's are on their way to you and should reach you within a few days, to a maximum of two weeks. Please let me know if you have not received it by then at cees@klumper.demon.nl. Those living in the Netherlands have received theirs this week.

Thank you for all the complements! There are a lot of people who provide articles, photos, and editorial input. It's a big team effort.
We're always looking for Pagoda related original material such as technical how-to articles, historical points of interests, interviews, event coverage, and more. Anyone can contribute to the publication and people supplying photos that get selected to be on the front or rear cover get a free issue showing your work.
Thanks everyone!

Got my copy of PW today - a very professional production. Thanks and congratulations to all involved. Thanks particularly to Albert for the piece on the Pagoda miniature: models don't do it for me, but that is another league altogether - fascinating!
Cheers,
kns.

Good to hear PW made it over to Australia already in one week (I sent them off from Amsterdam last week Wednesday afternoon, and non-priority too, to save on postage). Several went to Australia and New Zealand, I hope they all make it in about the same time. Also a few went to Asia from here and, of course, many to European countries.

Dear Group,
The long overdue Pagoda World Issue 3 (December!) is at the printers this week. My sincere apologies to the members who receive the publication! Delays such as this should not happen.
In my goal to reduce my delay down to none, I am now asking for material for Issue 4 that should be out in March, but more likely will be April. At least I am getting closer to being on time! So, if you have been to, or will soon be at, any Pagoda-related events and would like to write from a half-page to a two-page article about it then please send me an e-mail. Also, if you are performing any work on your car and would like to write an informative technical article (with pictures), those are always very well received as well. A good account of a vacation or interesting road trip in a Pagoda would be entertaining. Historical documentation about the W113's design, engineering, production, or general heritage that is worked into a story or simply presented as data of interest would be welcomed.
My many thanks to those who have contributed material and assisted with editing. I could never do this all alone!
Thank you,
Rodd

Hello again,
I'm always looking for photos to use for the front and back covers of the magazine. I have found that a resolution of 2000 x 1500 is about the minimum acceptable. Anything of greater resolution is better, of course. For those of you who have not elected to receive Pagoda World, you can still contribute pictures or articles. I will post a couple pics here to show the "style" that has succeeded in making the front and back covers.
If you would like to contribute, just click the little envelope icon above this post and e-mail me.
Thanks,
Rodd

Hello Group,
Issue 3 went out at the beginning of March. Did everyone receive theirs? Did you like it? Do you have any comments or suggestions on the publication? I'm always looking for ways to improve it's content and style.
Issue 4 is in the works and should be printed in a few weeks.

Sorry I am late to this but what is on the cover of the last issue ?
I am not sure if I've had 3 issues, is the front photo a red Pagoda with some buildings behind it ??

Ben,
The 3rd issue, dated December 2003, has Albert's beautiful pic of the Luxembourg Classic Days, a black topless number in front of an equestrian statue, on what was an obviously rare sunny day in the Low Countries.
I really enjoyed this issue, especially Mr. Geco's interesting article on cleaning your finish--applicable to all our old cars. Someone should do a piece on winter undercoating to complement this. Anyone game?

This fall we will be doing an event in The Netherlands that will include a visit to a rust-proofing expert shop. I will make sure we feature an article in Pagoda World and this will hopefully include tips on winter-proofing or -preparing our cars.

It will start appearing in mailboxes this weekend. I will also post a partial pdf of the issue so that people can get a taste of what it's about.
Thank you to everyone for their patience, encouragement and help. I think you'll be pleased.

Not being of technical disposition (go on, tell me you hadn't guessed ;) ) I plan to write something on a little summer trip I am taking, which will include the German Pagoda Club 25th Rally at Landshut in early August
Before then, there's the little matter of a UK Group meeting that I am trying to pull together (Rodd, it's coming along nicely!). I'll be doing a piece on that as well.
If they don't make the magazine, perhaps they can be hosted on the site
