Title: Tech Session and Steel Rims
Post by: Tom on June 17, 2003, 06:43:09
Group:

I have a couple of belated praises for the Tech Session conducted by Joe Alexander.  The content was excellent and the participants were true Pagoda enthusiasts.  It was great to meet and greet other owners and to drive other w113 cars.  As I have told Joe, as long as he keeps having these sessions, I will continue to drive 900 miles (round trip) in my little sporty car to participate!!!  Joe, I will email or post pictures pursuant to your earlier request.

There was some discussion regarding sourcing replacement steel rims.  Apparently there are a fair number of bent rims out there.  I noted the following item on ebay that may fit the w113:

Best,

Tom

Tom..
I agree, tech session, people and Joe's hospitality were great. I asked about comparison between the steel and alloy rims.  If I remember right you said there are alloy rims which will take the full 280sl hub cap.
Yesterday I put on new 205/70 ww tires.. Toyo.  I noticed difference in the feel of the wheel..a little more resistance and little less auto return.  They seem to have better ride and significantly less noise.
