My daily driver is a 2000 S500. Pulled off all the plastic crap that covers the engine and I note the block is stamped by amg. Do AMG have any inputs into blocks...I assume its a standard 5.O V8 and was told no different. It goes like a rocket though....

Bearcat,
The engines and changes are all made by AMG themselves. They take a standard car and swap out all the items that they dont need and install their in house items. Hence the AMG logos.

Walter,
Bearcat's point is that he has a standard car, yet it has an AMG logo on the engine block.
Bearcat,
I believe that any truly AMG performance-built engine has the builder's signature engraved on it. It's a one man - one engine build process, so the builder signs his engines. Let us know if you have that.

Bearcat,
Where on the engine block is this logo? (I'm posting pics that he couldn't.)
