Hello,
can not get the old part and the "click" every time when I go off the brake is driving me nuts.
Has anybody experience with a replacement part.
Actually the old part was not real rubber, more a kind of plastic. It came off in about 100 pieces.

Hi. What do you mean by "stop light switch"? I read on the Yahoo! Group that someone was tired of the sound the brake pedal makes when released and clunking against a stop post. They made something to replace a missing original part that padded the stop post. Is this what you mean?

This part is NLA.
Not only does releasing your brake produce the metal "clonk" but also the pedal when not applied, sits a bit too high because you are missing the plastic ring.
Van Dijk in the Netherlands is the source you want to approach. They had this part re-manufactured privately and you can order it from them. I got one and am very satisfied. Their website is at:

Hi,
and thank you. The stop light switch is the part where the brake pedal has the contact when released. So that is the cause of the "Click".
I will try to find the post about this problem on the yahoo-page.

Hey Peter, I had a look at mine because of the noise. I found a piece of flat rubber about 2-3 mm thick, cut it to be about the right size and then I glued it to the brake pedal lever. No cost and no clunk.

The correct part is about 7 to 8 mm thick, but a thinner part should work as well. I suppose the only difference will be in the height of the brake pedal at rest. When you install a washer for the first time, you will have to most likely adjust the brake light switch.
