Hello Chuck,
Congrats on your lucky purchase.
Now you are officially one of us, no longer a wanna-be.
One question, you bought the car locally?  Was it from DC?  I know of a late 280SL that has been wedged into a narrow garage with the same color combo(all dark blue), where it has sat for many years, with no avail to convince the owner to sell.  Who has 2 big mean dogs.
I first saw it about 15 years ago and drive by once in a while to knock on the door.  Not lately, might still be there.
