Title: Chassis measurements
Post by: waqas on August 14, 2006, 14:33:54
Does anyone have a copy of 113 chassis measurements?

A Dalton, you once mentioned that you had a copy of detailed chassis measurements. Perchance, could you share this valuable data?

Thanks and kind regards,

I've scanned-in the sheet of chassis measurements and the 1973 "foreign collision estimator guide" Mike faxed to me. Let me know if anyone needs it, and I can email it. (when oh when are we going to have a means for uploading big PDF files?)

Thanks to Mike Halleck for sharing this valuable resource.

Probably when more people join as full members and pay dues.  That way the Group can afford to buy more disk space from the ISP.  I don't deal with that stuff, but it's my best guess.

... which reminds me... I need to send in my renewal dues!

(or was that a not-so-subtle reminder that I was overdue, Rod?  ;) )

Waqas,

Do you still have a copy of the measurement sheet? I would be interested...

Naaah... I don't think I'll ever increase the size in the forum. If you want to upload a big file, stick it in the Technical Manual. It's probably where it belongs. There you can upload large files. However, best is to add the content to the Technical Manual, as then it becomes searchable.

The reason I don't want to increase the size in the forum section, is because it is not necessary. A picture can be made exactly right for forum viewing and still be in 256K. There's plenty of examples of that.

Bigger pictures ruin the browsing experience (more scrolling), and we still have a reasonable number of people visiting this forum with dial-up lines (notably JA17 and Dr Benz) who would not be well served with bigger uploads.

So it'll be cheaper for us to spring for broadband for The good Doc and JA17 than to upgrade the servers? ;D

It's not a cost issue on the ISP's server... it's a maintenance and backup issue... and the backup issue can become very expensive.
