Title: Hardtop weatherstrip question
Post by: dldubois on September 15, 2006, 16:20:45
I'm finally anticipating getting my car back from the painter after being stripped and repainted :)    My painter promised 2 months and 10/3/06 will have been 8 months he's had the car :x .  I only hope I can remember where all the chrome, etc. I have in my garage goes.

The hardtop was repainted and all chrome was removed.   There is a caulk/putty-like sealant under the top rails.  What have any of you used to replace?   Any suggestions?

When replacing the side mouldings it was suggested that I rivet them on?  any thoughts?

I too used the 3M caulk.  It seemed very similar to carpenter's caulk.  I used stainless screws to replace all the chrome pieces, the same type that were in there originally.
