Title: Nice Hatch-modified V8 Pagoda
Post by: Kenneth Gear on October 27, 2006, 12:11:11
Check out this thread on a detailing site.

It's a picture of a beautifully detailed Pagoda with a V8 engine from Hatch & Sons.  A 3.5 280SL, if you will.

Two things caught my eye.
1) How good the paint job looks
2) The firewall pad appears to me to be original material even though it looks brand new.. I wonder where he got it.

Now that is a well excuted engine swap. Looks stock and the car looks new. I would not mine owning that 280SL.

It's too bad that Mercedes didn't offer that engine in the 280 SL as it was available in the sedans, coupes and convertibles from some point.  I would have been happy if Mercedes had carried over the 300 SL engine for the 113s.
