Does anyone know if the production codes were different for right hand drive cars?
While we're at it, anyone know the production runs of right vs left hookers? I can find production totals but not these splits

I may be wrong, but I believe the production number was just to keep track of the car (and it's parts) during production. I don't think there would be any pattern to them, or any differences for LHD/RHD cars.
I don't think I've ever seen how many RHD cars were made, but I'm sure this info is kept some place.

Well, as most of you know, the first digit after the Baumuster (first six digits, e.g. 112044) shows if it is left- or right-hand drive, i.e. 1 = left, 2 = right hand drive. This is shown on the VIN tag and also on the body plate.

I've heard that it's in the 10 to 15% range. So maybe 5 to 6 thousand in total.
