Title: Shock Absorber ?
Post by: bpossel on July 22, 2008, 04:17:35
Hi All,

As I was scanning for parts... I came across this picture of the front shock and noticed an add'l bushing that I dont recall seeing on mine as I removed and re-installed...?    The small bushing on the pic below, is this under the shock cover tube?  If not, I am missing these on mine...  Never had them...

If I am missing them, can these rubber bushes be purchased without having to buy new shocks. I think I need them on the rear also...

Thanks!
Bob  :)

Hello, Bob,

These small bushes are shown on the front shocks only in the parts manual.

You can buy a repair kit 110 320 0056 which includes the top rubber bushes, washers and nuts for one side.(Itm 34)

Thanks Naj,

I spoke directly to Bilstein and while they dont sell shocks to the public directly, they do sell the shock kits, which include the bushes.  ~5 bucks per shock.

Hello Bob,

If I am not mistaken the lower bushing is actually under the rubber boot. So you most likely had these on your original shocks and they remained inside the rubber boot so you did not notice them.

There is currently only very limited stock on the kit (110 320 00 56) from Mercedes German inventory. The rubber bushing is also available separately at a fraction of the price of the kit.
