Title: Electrical and Linkages
Post by: n/a on November 07, 2003, 00:19:31
Howdy folks

I recently purchase a 1965 230SL.  The car was not running when I purchase it, but thanks to many of you, it will be soon.  I can't wait!

I'm looking for electrical schematics.  I purchased the MB manuals on CD but I can't find a schematic specifically for the 230SL, 250SL, or 280SL.  Does it (230SL) share the same wiring schematic with another MB model?

I sent my Injection Pump, injectors, and CSV off to H&R in Bohemia, NY for overhaul, cleaning, and testing.  My gas tank was cleaned, coated, and the exterior repainted with epoxy.  (tank looks real nice now!)  I'm in the process of flushing the rest of the fuel system, replacing the fuel fileter, and all the old flex hoses.  I noticed when I removed the IP that the "ball joint" linkages were pretty sloppy.  In an effort to make the entire fuel delivery system like new, I'd like to replace the linkages, too (Some of the rods are homemade and of poor quality).  I have found a source for the ball sockets, but not the linkage balls or linkage rods.  I know the rods aren't complex parts to manufacture but I'm hoping someone might be able to point me to a vendor.

Thanks in advance for taking the time to share your knowledge.

Hello Tony,
I will try to scan in a wiring diagram here for you;

Sorry, I can't get the file to download (too big). I will email it to you.

If you get some part numbers on those linkages, you probably can still get them from Mercedes.

Tony,
The 230SL Spare Parts List book from MB provides an incredible value.  I have all the linkage part numbers at my finger tips.

127 070 32 75 - Push rod (206mm), main control shaft to inj. pump
127 070 36 75 - Push rod (267mm), main control shaft to venturi
900331 005032 - Pull rod, main control shaft to constant idle device
900331 005086 - Push rod, constant idle to engine block

All the ball & socket joint parts and tightening nuts all have part numbers as well.
