Title: Fuel Pump Replacement?
Post by: Eryck on October 25, 2008, 21:19:24
Went to pick up the car from the Swissol agent after a wax with their "Mystery" wax yesterday.  Was supposed to take the car to the annual Classic Car Club public display today.

The car doesn't want to go. The fuel pump started to leak. Had the MOT test done two days ago and it was fine.

Read up on a few threads on this through the search function.

Seems like the early pumps are NLA. Apart from the protective cover and a lower fitting, the newer ones should fit fine right?

Is fixing it hard?  Assuming I can get the o-rings?  Where can I get the o-rings?

Thanks again.

Eryck,
George Des is very knowledgeable about these pumps. He can provide you with a kit, saves the trouble of sourcing individual parts. The only item not available is the bellows.

I repaired mine, good as new for $35.

Good luck.

Don't do anything before you've read: http://www.sl113.org/wiki/pmwiki.php?n=Fuel.Pump

Thanks, Peter.  I keep forgetting about the technical manual.  In fact, today is the first time I went it.  Very informative indeed.

By the way, I changed the exhaust system and the manifold and it drives like a dream now...sounds very different to when you were here!
