Title: Help! Need rigid master cyl to clutch line
Post by: Markp on October 28, 2008, 19:36:44
I need a part that's no longer available from Mercedes, ASAP! I'm looking for the rigid line that goes from the master cylinder to the clutch. Anyone??? Please feel free to call me if you have this part 206-890-4615. Thanks, Mark

I assume that the part you're referring to is part # 66 in the figure below:

Do you have a 230SL or 250SL/280SL ?
The part seems to still be available for 250SL/280SL from SLS (http://www.sls-hh-catalogue.de/bin/dbframes.phtml?mid=IN02), as part # 229011.

Did you call the Classic Center?  The Mercedes part numbers are as follows:

113 290 02 13  -- 230SL (LHD)
113 290 05 13  -- 230SL (RHD)
113 290 10 13  -- 250SL/280SL (LHD)
113 290 11 13  -- 250SL/280SL (RHD)

Hi, Is it a metric size brake line?  If so, any parts store-Advance
Auto, etc?

Mark,
you can make this line.

The fittings and raw line should be available from an auto parts store.
you will also need a flaring tool.
you can use the old line as a template if you have it

Also, a hydraulic shop could also make the line for you, typically they prefer you bring them the line and fittings

Sorry about the lack of details. I have an early, euro 1968 280SL. I've spoken with Buds and the Classic center and both confirmed that the part is no longer available. The Mercedes part # is 1132901513 and it's the rigid line from the clutch resevoir to the clutch master cylinder. Unfortunately, the old line has gone missing. My understanding from Sigfried Lienke (my mechanic and restorer) is that there's a special fiting at the end that's not standard??? thanks for all your input and help. This is the last piece I need before fluids can be put in and the car started... after 4 years!!!!
