Title: Can I determine the VIN based on the number stamped on hardtop of 107 car?

I have a hardtop from a 107 car.  It has a number stamped on the underside, just like on the 113 cars.  Given that, is it possible to determine the VIN?  I would like to try to figure out what car it came from, etc.

No, I don't believe it's possible to determine the VIN based on the Aufbau number.

Hmmm, is there anything I can determine from the Aufbau number?  (Such as year or model?)    Is Aufbau number the same as body number?

Maybe the Classic Center has some kind of look-up...but without a year, all you have is the chassis type and the aufbau numner...and the same aufbau number might repeat in  several years.

Can't hurt to try the CC.
