Headlight Chrome trim
« on: September 06, 2014, 21:39:16 »
Can someone tell me if you can use the chrome trim
From the US headlights on the Euro headlights. I have read
Somewhere they can be used by grinding something off of
The inside of the trim. I would really like to know for sure before
I invest in new euro chrome trim. Any pictures, or details of what is
Involved to make the US light chrome fit would be much appricated.
Many thanks,
DM.

You've heard right. Do a search on the site; the info is here. I think there's a post by Cees a few years back. Far cheaper to convert, I would imgine.

Yes, I separated the plastic doors from the chrome trim without even having to grind anything. I then used the chrome trim with euro lights.

Yes, I did this (replaced the US lights with Euro) and thanks to the good advice from Frank Van Dijk in the Netherlands was able to use the chrome rings. I did have to grind off one or two small tabs on each ring, but since it's now more than 10 years ago, I don't remember exactly where they were. But it should be obvious once you have it apart. Good luck!

Thanks Guys. When I finally collect the car in a few weeks, this will be the first project.
