Spare wheel cover

Good morning,

Does anyone know whether a spare wheel cover for horizontal spare wheel in the trunk is suitable for a 1963 230 SL (with a vertical spare wheel)? I would like to cover my spare wheel, although I know this configuration would not be original, but would be much nicer!

Hey, welcome Oldtimery. Not sure if the later covers will fit -- some how I doubt it since the vertical "trough" is so tight as it is. Maybe another approach would be clean up the spare (if it needs it). Does it have the trim rim & wheel cover? I think the trunks of the early cars can look pretty cool with that 5th wheel showing ...

PS love to hear more about your car! we early guys gotta stick together!  :D
