$6000 1969 project SL
« on: August 15, 2009, 13:52:01 »
I'm going to look at a project to restore at the Votec where I work. My question is provided most things are included, am I crazy to think I can get this car put back together in the $15000 range?

It all depends.  Is the engine in good running condition?  how about the transmission.  You will likely need quite a bit of steel for the body and frame to do it right.

I did mine without any outside help or costs and I eclipsed that easily.  I still need to do my seats.

I reused everything I could.  Good luck,  On a scacle of 10, mine was easily a 14, in dificulty.

I don't even know where you are.  In the NE, there is a lot of decay so tremendous amount of time and money go into restoring structural integrity.
I started my restoration in about 2001 and finished the car in 2008.  OMG the parts have become scarcer and a LOT more expensive.  I mean a lot.  If ALL the parts are there, go for it!

The Pagodas make an awesome classic car that catches the eyes, Drives very well and in short- is nearly as capable as current automobiles.

Guys, I said almost, they do show their vintage in some areas.
