heater controls
« on: September 14, 2009, 02:52:51 »
Hi,I've removed the heater control levers to clean and lubricate the cables. What I found was overspray from a previous owners dash repaint. After two days polishing all the plastic parts and metal frame I was curious if there were felt pieces between the frame and the levers. On the frame there were signs of some sort of glue near the front of the frame. I did this job once before about 1968 on my first 230sl a 1963. You would think I could remember, then again I don't remember what I had for breakfast this morning. Thanks for any advice.

Yes I believe there was felt.  I just took mine apart and saw felt there between the levers

Are you asking about the metal casting that holds the ' pill bottles '* and all the levers in place? I've never seen anything on those things and I'm pretty sure it's just a bare metal piece.
