Hello all.
Months and months i had a very annoying sound.
Couldn't find what cause this. It look like it came from the engine by certain rpm's , but at idle it was not audible.
Also when i drove over bumps i could hear it.
Today i was busy with the exhaust cause i'm gonna replace it completely.
Between the pipe before the mid-muffler and the floor i found a piece of hardenend rubber.
And, happy as i am now, removing this piece and the noise is gone.....what a relief.
Now my question.
Does anybody what this part is meant for?
As you can see in the picture has the heat of the pipe "melt" a bit away of it.
We're not talking pagoda here, it's a W108 280SEL.
Thanks for any replies.
