Author Topic: Anyone "upgrade" to early hard pocket from soft pocket door panels?  (Read 4998 times)

I purchased new factory hard pocket door panels in matching Cognac leather. The original purchaser procured them in Germany many years ago.
I feel I got a good deal and happen to like the hard pocket design a bit more than the later configuration.

If I decide to use these hard pockets as the replacement I'll still retain the originals in case 100% originality is desired.

Has anyone made this change? Any thought to share on the subject?

Also, I read that the hard design was done away with because of (potential?) safety issues. Can someone shed light on this comment?

The hard pocket was still used on EURO 113s after they were done away with in the US.

There's more to an upgrade of the door than just the pocket.  Better yet, upgrade the whole car to a 230 or early 250!

I have the interior door handles, escutcheons, and window cranks available if you want to upgrade to the 230 / early 250 door panel.  I don't have the interior lock switches though...   It's all on ebay but I sell on the forum cheaper than ebay so contact me if interested.

John, Thanks for the pic. Can you tell me how long the hard pocket was used in the Euro car?
