Soft Top Springs
« on: October 06, 2009, 02:18:52 »
The rear bow on the soft top on my new car wil not "lock" into position prior to folding the top. The circular springs on both sides of the soft top mechanism are missing, but I have no "go-by" to confirm where they should be and where they attach.. The coil springs appear to be working OK.
I have checked the normal technical resources and was unable to find a diagram or photo of these particular springs. I thought I had seen years ago a photo of wheere the circular springs attach but I am unable to find it in my search of the site.
Can anyone help, please?
Thanks,
Stan

Make sure the anchoring points are intacct (two for each side)  There's a good chance that the two upper have broken off.  In the event they are there I have one spare spring I will donate to the cause.

Thanks fior the offer of the spring, but at this point I wouldn't know what to do with them. I am trying to determine where the springs attach.

Hans,
Thanks for the link - the pictures were very helpful.
The small spring is what I am looking for. I assume it is available through MB, but have not checked.
