Spring fasteners
« on: January 15, 2010, 23:03:45 »
I just got a radio delete plate that has the spring fasteners for the 280SL script. I need to repaint it to my color.
Does anyone have a way to remove these spring clips?  They are similar to the clips that hold the script to the trunk lid.
I hate to just grab them with a pair of pliers and hope for the best...

If it is anything like the one on my 230 I'd get a small "L" shaped tool like a pick and then push
up on the inside of where the spring goes over the stud.

as you push up on the inside you open up the metal just enough to release the tension so you can
slide the spring off.

If you grab it with a pliers you may distort the clip.
