5 speed ratios on the ZF
« on: May 12, 2006, 08:58:11 »
John Olsens Book mentions there were 2 types of 5 spd . A with a 0.83 for relaxed cruising and B. 1.0 for closer ratios for mountain driving.

My question is 1.does any one have the B type 2. does any one have a 5 speed with a MB box instead of the ZF.

My assumption is that you are referring to the MG G67/27-5 transmission that was installed in the W107 SLs.  The ZF was the only 5-speed installed in the W113 body.

If you were looking at the table on pg 88, that 5-speed with a 1:1 fifth gear was for the 2.3-16 or the 1990-3 300SL.
