Slip Rod & DashPot
« on: February 22, 2010, 10:40:12 »
Joe (& others),

MB used a "slip" rod (on the automatics) that connected the cross over linkage to the throttle body.

Question...  With the elimination of the DashPot, is the "slip" rod still used for this setup?  Or should a fixed rod be used when the DashPot is removed?

Thank you!
Bob  :)

Hello Bob,

My thoughts are the slip rod should be removed.  The slip rod allows the dashpot to slightly increase the venturi opening when the engine vacuum drops, without increasing increasing the fuel mixture.
