Head bolts

Reading the service manual for my 280 SL 1970, it notes "replace the 10k bolts with 12k". Can anybody explain what this means? Also, the bores are at the max at 87.5mm, meaning the engine has already been worked on. If I find that they are worn,can I sleeve the 280SL bores, and reuse my 87.47 pistons?

Mahle Germany now make 87.97 pistons as a special repair size 3

Many thanks. Very helpful to know that further oversize pistons are available. As regards the bolts, as I do not know how many times they have been reused, would it be safer to replace when I rebuild the engine?

Have the bolts been upgraded to the recommended 12K (Marked 12L on the head)?
