Hi all,

I just finished rebuilding an LSD 3.27 rear axle that I'm soon going to fit in my W111. I also got the W108  donor car speedo so that I can swap the internals into my W111 speedo (same as the 113 ones). I had a quick look and there are some differences: the W108 mileage reset button is bottom left while on the W111 it's on the right. I could keep the W111 mileage section and adapt only the speedo part. As this 3.27 conversion is rather popular on W113s, I wonder if anybody already tried that route before I tear my W111 speedo apart?

Thanks in advance!

I have not and have the same situation as you.  The speedo works on some sort of magnetic field.  There are no gears to change in the speedometer portion.  The odometer is gear driven and maybe the W108 gears will interchange.  I've yet to check and would be interested to learn from your experience.

You  may want to consider a ratio converter.

Scroll down about an inch and you will see an example of what I'm talking about

Thanks! very useful lik. I will first try to combine the W108 and W111 odo parts and see if I can come out with something. Otherwise I remember seeing an adjustable device between the odo and the cable on a car participating to vintage events. they had banned tripmasters so the guy had adjusted its odo very precisely. This is what we would need but I have no idea of where to find it.
