Will anyone know the part number for the passenger side door mirror for a LHD 69 280SL?  By passenger side, I am referring to the right door. Thanks  BEn

Hi, Eric,

The left hand door mirror assembly is 110 810 1916
The right hand door mirror assembly is 110 810 2016

The above are with plane (flat) glass and showing as available

If you can find NOS, door mirror assemblies with convex glass are

113 810 2916 left door and
113 810 3016 right door.

Alternatively, if you wish, convex glass lens is availlable separately:

115 811 0166 This is what I have changed to on my car.

Naj,
I see the convex glass available on ebay at http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mercedes-Convex-Mirror-Glass-European-type-New-OEM-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem2306d97146QQitemZ150438768966QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories#ht_2767wt_548, but the description states that a different plastic retainer frame is required, no longer available.  What is your experience? did you convert a mirror that started out with flat glass?

Thanks very much.

Hi, David,

Yes, I started with the flat glass type mirror head and used the old retaining ring.

\\\\\\\\\\\I got my convex mirror glass from the Classic Center.
It came with the plastic retainer.  It works great and was very reasonable.

Is there a difference between the passenger side mirrors on a 280 vs. a 230 or did they keep the same shape throughout production? I would really like one as well as my view over the rear quarter is obscured by the softtop and Copenhagen has more bicycles than Beijing (or so it feels...)

Ulf,

230 SLs have the earlier 'goose neck' stalk mirrors.
