Steering wheel cover
« on: May 04, 2010, 12:43:51 »
Anyone know a source for a leather steering wheel cover to fit a pagoda. All the ones I have seen are too small wheel circumpherence.
Thanks

Wheelskins did not have a color match for me, so I made a quick trip to Tandy Leather which turned up a color match.  120 hand punched holes and about 2 hours to lace on.  It was a fun weekend project!

Ignore the crummy chocolate brown carpet in the photo....it is long gone!

Turns out my steering wheel is not perfectly round and was wondering if that is correct. ??? ???  I measured 17 5/16" across and 16 7/8" top to bottom.  I checked a spare cracked steering wheel I have and it is the same.

Hello Jordan,

Yes, that's correct.
Our (original) steering wheels are no special SL steering wheels but common generic fintail or W108-W114-W115 parts.
These ones are flatted towards the knees for better clearance during entry etc. The difference is about a centimeter or so.
