Hello Reggie. Using the VIN number you could certainly find out what the "original" color was (which may or may not still be the color). You would first have to call the MB Classic Center and request the "data card" for your car. They will ask for the VIN and can FAX it -- sometimes the same day. This will have the color codes which can then be decoded here using our technical manual.

However, once you have the car in front of you, you would be able to look at the data "plate" attached thereon that would also indicate the original color scheme.

I think you will eventually want that data card anyway, so I'd call and try and get it now before your car gets to you. Good luck.

Hi Reggie. It sounds like he may have had something different. Generally a local dealership will not have the data card at the ready -- it is the Classic Center I believe that keeps these. If I were you, I'd look in the Tech Manual under data card and you will see what they look like, the types of things they contain, and how to obtain yours. Best of Luck.

My color chart shows 726 as grey-biege, a truly excellent color for a Pagoda. The "h" is for herberts, the paint manufacturer.

Once you have the car in your possession check the metal plate under the hood on the top of the fender for the original paint code. Note that mine here shows 670 which is light ivory.

hi kevin - its 726 h - ive even got the order form with a piece of the colour and a bit of material for the interior-theres every thing with the car from day 1 - german plates and california plates too - i took a gamble buying this with just photos but its worth every penny - a couple of splits in the paint but you have to polish a car to find these things i suppose its with all that sunshine-anyway ime not going my usual route and painting it-must not get carried away and try to make it like new then dare not use it-been there done that

Reg,

Great that you had such good luck. I brought my car (also from California) to a great detailer here locally who wet-sanded and buffed the paint that I felt would never shine again and the outcome was terrific.

Best of luck with your "new" car...cant wait to see pics!

car was £18950 + shipping  £900 + £50 certificate from mercedes to say it was built in eu + vat £2950 dont know how they worked that out ? so not bad compared with uk prices - plus there isnt one bit of rust anywhere -  there are cheaper ones to import but they need work which as you know costs time and money - they advertised mine as the best they had seen and now i believe them - it realy is first class - just been for a blast in the country and i couldnt stop smilling  ;D why buy cheap then have to spend your time working on it - ime well pleased - i bought it of kent collection on the net - got my vote

Here's a link to a 726H from Motoring Investments.  It doesn't take you the correct page but it's the one listed for $125,000.00.

Reggie, congrats on the car!  Sounds like you got a nice one.  I have the same color but mine is the metallic version, 728H.  It wasn't my first choice of colors but it has grown on me.  It's tough to find a nice car especially in your favorite color.  Mine preferred choice would have been DB906 blue gray.

my first choice colour would be silver with blue or red interior-but ime happy with this ( for now ) its growing on me too - people say it looks classy ? i must not fall into my usual mode of trying to make it perfect which it nearly is-bit of paint work could be better to the trained eye-but i want to drive this one not sit looking at it

To my calculations its 28.853,28 USD with todays currency!

Very very nice price. It looks to me from the pictures that it could easily bring in 40.000 USD or more.

Hope there are no surprices and that it is a true present find.

Congrets on your super buy...
