Members Location in Miami Floridia

:) I need to contact any members who would like to help me checkout a Pagoda 280SL in Miami Florida.

:) I am in Australia; so I can not fly in to check out this Pagoda.

It is not a "Trailer Queen" it's  a daily driver only but the rust scars me.

I have a holding deposit on this Pagoda it looks good and I need a rust inspection.

I am  concerned that it is plated, and still has rust and bog (filler compound) as the restoration was done Unprofessionally.

Be assured I know where to look and can show YOU where to find the rust and plating along with the bog ( filler compound)

I would show my appreciation by offering  to cover all cost for travel  and time.  :)

To date every Pagoda that I got all the correct photos of and had inspected had masses of rust.

We all know we can fix everything but not the rust.

Hopefully someone will help me out.

I tried asking the New Retail Mercedes-Benz dealers to no avail, as there staff are to scared too be Manly.

Thank you Leah

You can sort members by location and find the ones in Florida quite easily. Go to the Members tab. Select search. Unselect the fields for e-mail address and name. Then select location. Enter search criterium: "USA, FL" and you can approach them directly using Personal Messages. Select those with more posts, they'll be more active and likely more knowledgeable too.

Some well known names: hauser, Raymond, enochbell, or awolff280sl

Leah,

I cant help on this one since I am not near Miami but should you decide to look elsewhere, the western portion of the US tends to yield more rust-free examples of Pagodas. California is a good state to check as there is typically not any severe weather that would force road salt to be used. Not a guarantee as cars can move around but I found a competely rust-free example on Northern CA five years ago and am still pleased. I found that many cars in Florida were brought there from the Northeast (our "rust-belt") as in the 1960's and 1970's Florida traditionaly was a place for "snow-birds" (folks who lived in the north but spent winters in the south).

This may be a good site to check...
