wiper motor linkage position ?
« on: December 03, 2010, 00:12:04 »
hi chaps ,

Would anyone happen to know or have a photo of  the correct position for the small wiper link arm fixed to the motor (that attaches to the linkage ) :'(, when in the parked position ?

i took mine off for plating and forgot to mark the position on the spline

Cheers   PMO

I don't think there is a marked position for the arm, just fit it so the wipers are parked when the motor is and adjust as necessary to get the perfect position after a bit of use. For the first operation lift the wipers off the screen to make sure they don't try to clean the bonnet or jamb, then test on a wet screen to place some load them and fine tune as necessary.

Install the motor with the linkage arm removed, plug in the wiper motor, turn on the motor and turn it off using the stalk switch so that it runs to the park position, turn off the ignition switch (motor can turn on and cause injury if ignition switch is left on) install the lever to where the linkage is in the fully extended position, then turn on the motor and check for proper operation.

PMO,

You wouldn't happen to work for a man named David, or perhaps his name was Gordon or Tony? ;D  Or maybe you are David, Gordon or Tony?
