Removing rocker covers
« on: April 22, 2004, 00:30:14 »
Hi Everyone

I'm about to embark on some rust repairs and need some advice. I want to remove as much trim and panels as possible before taking the car to the body shop. First I need to see what's going on in my sills. I can see that the rocker covers are screwed along the bottom edge and the top edge is covered by a chrome strip which is pop riveted to the body. Do I have to drill out the rivets or does the sill just slip underneath this chrome strip? Also, how do you get to the drain pipes leading from the soft top compartment to the sill? Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks, Mark

Mark,

I used the Search feature. This discussion was already started here, but it got off track some:

Perhaps Ben can pick up the discussion and comment on what he did to remove his panels?

Also, Tom writes that he removed and replaced his covers with new ones.

Tom, any comments?

Thanks,
