Hard Top Rear Seal
« on: March 22, 2011, 22:14:16 »
I have just received a new rubber seal from MB for the hard top,it is the seal that is fitted across the rear between the hard top and body.
The seal is a single piece of rubber in a  v formation.
The old one i have removed consists of the same v formation but inside the v is a moulded/glued white foam rubber insert, this seems to make a very good seal without the insert the seal as received from MB would not fill the space available.
My local dealer says that the seal is correct without the white insert and that there is no other seal available,he thinks that the white insert might have been introduced by the previous owner.
Has anyone recently purchased one of these seals and can confirm whether or not there is a white foam rubber insert fitted.
If anyone has a photograph of the seal fitted it would help.

I purchased a new rear hardtop seal from the Classic Center and it did not have any white insert attached to it.

Hello Rolf and DP,
Does your new seal look like the old  one you are removing?
