Choosing Colour For My Restoration Project
« on: August 30, 2010, 10:06:44 »
Hi, this is my first post as I am just in the middle of having a 1967 250sl totally restored by John Haynes down in Sussex. My biggest dilema (other than paying for it...) is choosing the right colour! I think I am probably going to go for metallic anthracite grey (code 172). I have not seen a car in the flesh with this colour and before I finally push the button I was wondering if anyone had any good photos of a car in this colour?

Thanks

Mike

Thanks for the very valuable help! Think my mind is pretty much made up now. This is my first Pagoda SL and having wanted one for years I want to get it right..... I will try and post some photos as the restoration goes along.

But what was the original colour of your car?

The original colour was white. I have now decided to go with the 172 anthracite colour with a parchment leather interior. Following some earlier requests for an update on progress with the restoration I will shortly post some photos so that progress can be followed pretty much from day one through to the finished vehicle.

Thanks to all those who helped me with choosing the colour for the restoration of my 1967 250 Sl.
After a year of hard work by the guys at John Haynes the car is now complete. I have had it on the road now for a couple of weeks and extremely happy with the choice of colour and the work carried out by the team. Hope the photos do it justice!

Nice car Mike, Nice colour too, so much better than white, When you get over the bill, treat it to a 5 digit number plate, they fit in the back panel much better, I could never understand why people spend large amounts of money, then do that. Bit like a sharp suit, and trainers, just my 10 bobs worth, well done you must be proud,
