In the process of replacing various seals; so far door seals and frontscreen/sides quite easy; the softtop cover lid seems a bit trickier; before I start any tips/hints ?? :?:

I don't have a tip for the soft top seal, but I do for the chrome trim on it.  There are small nuts & bolts that hold the pieces of chrome trim to the soft top lid.  These all have small rubber washers with them.  This prevents water on the soft top lid from flowing below the chrome and into the lid itself or into the soft top compartment.  These nuts, bolts, and washers have individual part numbers and are still available.

I belive the chrome strips also have rubber seals that run along their length.

Thanks for the advice;must say I was impressed to find small metal "distance" rings under the screws that fix the metal stips holding the rubber seals to the body ! Quite an eye for detail those MB engineers.
Ditto for the "anode" pads preventing rust between chassis and rubber bump stops at rear suspension.
Completely off topic I know......
