 Another beautiful, warm evening here last night in the foothills and what better thing to do then take out our SL for a drive. A couple of pictures taken a few seconds apart...

I have similar sunset pictures taken of the car back in 1969 (when it was new) in the Malibu area of CA so this car truly is a time machine for me. Enjoying the ride

Taken in the hills above Malibu CA (1969). Car came with Continental WW tires (not Firestones). The car hasn't changed much, only the owner

I find it interesting there is no mirror on the passenger visor -- was it not a feature on later cars?

Still, cool pics for being so old (sorry John and the car!! perhaps I should say so vintage?)...

Malibu has definitely changed as well...

 Nope, no passenger side mirror. I don't even remember it being offered as an option and i don't recall too many cars back then coming with one. Just got in the door after a nice 85 mile jaunt up the hill to Pollack Pines and then the long way home:-) No SL sightings today. Looks like we might be able to make a drive up your way one of these days. Sure loving my old SL

No, James of course not. US-delivery 250ies after serial 002979 did not come any longer with the mirror on the passenger side sunvisor. Only non-US versions (Euros etc.) and cars before 250 serial 002980 had/have that one.

Sorry James, I thought you were referring to a passenger DOOR mirror, Duh.  Achim is right (of course:-), the 280s did not have the mirror (nor any bright shinny interior chrome that could blind the driver either among other "safety" changes due to laws enacted by the Feds). My 250 SL, 113043-10-001133, did have one in the visor.
