Headlight switch label
« on: August 12, 2004, 10:43:29 »
Do any of you know where or how I can get the label/decal that goes on the dashboard behind the headlight switch?  During the painting and restoration of my pagoda this wasn't replaced.  Does the switch pull off to place the label?

Thanks.

Is there supposed to be a headlight switch label?

Hello,
Yes, the US delivered cars around 1969 and later were required to have the label. A lot of W 108 sedans had the same label.

Thanks Joe this explains why my car does not have this either. Sice we are talking about labels how about the ventilation diagram that's between the levers. Did all the W113 cars have these?  What is the availability of this ventilation diagram?

You can probably get the correct font, size and colour if you look at "Letraset" the rub on lettering kind of stuff. It's pretty durable if your careful in applying it

Here's the light switch label from a 1970 US-spec car:

Many Pagodas in Europe (mine included) have these labels as these cars were reimported over the years. When I first got my car I thought they were an add-on from a previous owner, since they looked somewhat out of place, not in the same style as the rest of the interior. They are from a rather thick material (some sort of plastic?)

My car does not have the ventilation label. Since my car was a German import this explains the absence of the light switch label. My question is did all cars have the ventilation diagram label and if so I how would I go about getting one?

I believe both labels are only found on US cars.

Does anyone know where I can get the small "Up" arrow that is on the vent faceplate? Mine fell off. Also what color should it be?

I think these labels were a US Dept of Transport requirement, hence them being on US bound cars of that era
